The geared drum carries 30 metres of 2 mm diameter dip wire, and is fitted with a braking / locking device. The dip wire terminates in a latching hook for secure attachment to a sampler. A grounding cable and clip provide electrical continuity between the sampler and electrical earth. The winder is equipped with a support strut and carrying handle.
